Sky & Ollie: Women's Hysterics Month!

Image
Sky: Say Ollie, now that Black History Month is over and done with, it's high time that we focus on another significant month, embracing another group who at times, are underrepresented.  Ollie: Who might that be, the Native Americans? Sky: No, you silly twink, I'm referring to the opposite sex, as in Women's History Month! Where women all around the world are celebrated for all their contributions to society and mankind. Ollie: By your definition of "contributions", you meant nagging, enabling, cowardice, arrogance and being catty?😺 And that's just within the workplace! Sky: Ollie, that wasn't very nice and i'll have you know that our Mother is a Woman! Not to mention that most Women do not bear those traits, (Just a sizable amount.) after all, we don't want this site being accused of being hateful like some idiot once mentioned here. Ollie: Oh, you mean the "that clown"? Isn't he the same guy call

Triple Threat is a triple treat

Image
When 2019 started I was excited for only 1 thing and that was John Wick 3. Later Hobbs & Show arrived. And after that I found out about Triple Threat and it made me super excited. The line-up of Triple Threat was insane and it would probably be the best movie I will see this year. It would probably exceed at where the Expendables failed, i.e. make good use of the actors in it. So let’s look at the line-up of Triple Threat. Iko Uwais from The Raid. Tony Jaa from The Protector (Tom Yuum Goong). Scott Adkins from Undisputed 2-4. Tiger Chen, of whom I never heard. Yeeja Janin, the woman who has more girl power in her pinky finger than Brie Larson has in her whole body. Michael Bisping, former UFC-fighter. And last but not least Michael Jai White. That is a motherfucking badass line-up. Granted, you always wish for more like Marko Zaror, Van Damme, Mark Dacascos and Katheryn Winnick being added to the cast, but you can’t win them all. This line-up in itself is glor

9 Lives O' Green! Ollie: "tulalulaluraaaa" Muthafucka! Hey...shitfaced and Shitheads...this is your Boyo Ollie here to raise a pint and give a shout out to st paddys day by honoring memorable Irish folk not only in film, music but pop culture icons in general. Welcome to the Shammys, short for Shamrock. (Duh!) Sky: So I take it that you are already getting "toasted" Ollie? Ollie: it's all about tradition me Boyo. Just look at that Golden trophy. Beautiful isn’t it? Sky: Why a Shamrock and not a “Potato” instead? Ah yes, Saint Patrick's Day, when all the Irish cavort, get drunk, barf, beat each other up, go home and then beat their Spouses or significant others.  Ollie: .I resent that comment...tharts a liiiie...Sky! We don't always barf. *Hiccup* Sky: I can smell the Hennessy mixed with Guinness eight yards away! You bloody lush. Ollie: Can you also smell my Paws? *Wink* Guess whe

Men Of Action: Jan Michael-Vincent 1945-2019

Image
It comes as no surprise that actor Jan Michael-Vincent has shuffled his mortal coil after many decades of alcohol and substance abuse. However, this article’s purpose isn’t about Vincent’s sensationalist past, but instead a shout to his past career highlights.Jan had attended college for three years and would have finished had it not been for a rude registration clerk. After his disillusionment, Jan finished a tour in the National guard reserve in 1967 and at sometime later, became an actor starting with The Bandits, directed by Macho actor Robert Conrad and from there, a handful of television projects. However, my first introduction to him was this little movie known as The Mechanic in which he costarred along with Charles Bronson, as Steve McKenna, a narcissistic assassin who has an hidden agenda when working with Bronson’s character, Bishop. Despite a few negative reviews, regarding the story composition or lack thereof, The Mechanic was praised for its ac

The Bop Drop : Aint It Cool News' Herc ain’t nothing but a bitch!

So Jercules seems to be MIA at AICN. Good riddance to that piece of shit if it is true. It took way to long before that jabroni left. Hercules was never about promoting quality TV. He was about shilling and he was about power tripping. If you called him out on not promoting a cool TV show he would ban you. If he verbally assaulted you and verbally got his ass handed to him by you he banned you just like that. He is the most cowardice person I ever saw on the net. What a bitch. You think he would promote a quality show like The Shield? The Shield was too intense for that Buffy-loving buffoon. Just like the youth of today he has zero resilience and backbone, let alone taste. Harry Knowles is a million times the man Herc is and you know how much of a man Harry is. Despite Harry’s flaws, he didn’t need a court jester like Jercules. Harry’s court jester You think Jercules would promote a once quality show like Supernatural? Of course not. He was

The Bop Drop: If It Ain’t Monica Rambeau FUCK THIS SHIT

So Ms. Marvel, I mean Captain Marvel is coming out on March 8. March 8 is international women’s day. If that isn’t pandering to women I don’t know what it is. I don’t expect much from the movie. I expect some typical fake ass Hollywood girl power. The problem is that Hollywood wouldn’t know girl power if it bit them in their coked up ass. The fact that Disney Marvel is making this shit is gonna insult the audience even more. We are gonna see a man-hating, faux-girl power, passive aggressive, unfeminine character at work. That character will set back relations between men and women back countless decades. And yet, the critics will praise it as girl power at its best. Give me a fucking break. Not only that, they will praise the movie to the moon. And by the way, fuck Disney for putting pressure on Rotten tomatoes for already disowning this movie. Not that Rotten tomatoes is the end all and be all. Need I say more? So the real Captain Marvel is Mar-vell. Inst

The Bop Drop R.I.P. King Kong Bundy

Image
Life struck with death again. First Keith from The Prodigy committed suicide. Then Luke Perry also died, but to me the most shocking of them all is King Bong Bundy  A good hero needs a good villain. King Kong Bundy was that villain. WWE, then WWF, in the 80s was awesome. You had such a collection of fantastic characters that it made up for great television. King Kong Bundy was one of the characters, who really stood out during that time. He was fat, he was bald and he was mean. He was 6 foot 4 (1.93 meters) and weighed 450 American pounds (204 kg). And he had no trouble squashing people with his fat body. Next to that he also looked very pale which made for an awesome look. And you hated him when he beat up poor wrestlers and then demanded the ref to give the 5-count instead of a 3-count. What an arrogant bastard he was. His most famous match is the Wrestle Mania 2 cage match against Hulk Hogan. The way it looked Hogan finally met the opponent he could not beat. I

Femme Fatal! Woman of Action: Pam Grier

Image
She's fierce! She's beautiful and if you cross her, she'll cream ya!  In honor of Women’s History Month, I’m giving a shout out to one of the first, if not the first Badass Action heroine of Cinema- the Godmother of Blaxploitation films herself, the insatiable Pam Grier! When you ask a pop culture enthusiast about Blaxploitation films, one if the first movies that cone to mind besides Superfly and Shaft is either Foxy Brown or Coffy . Both were legendary performances courtesy of Ms. Grier as both protagonists faced down the odds only to prevail and deliver justice by sticking it to the "Man" in the end. Rotten Tomatoes listed her as the second greatest female action hero in cinema history. Writer, Producer and Director Quentin Tarantino who revitalized her career with Jackie Brown referred to her as possibly the first female action star! Grier started out as a receptionist at AIP (American International Pictures) back in 1967 and was disc

It's another segment of Pop Topix and I have a handful of news in pop culture for you and it's only the start of the week! Prodigy Frontman, Keith Flint dead at 48! To start things off, here are some sobering tidbits, Lead singer and songwriter for the 90's Punk Techno Rave band, Prodigy, Keith Flint was found dead after a suicide attempt. The Prodigy released a statement: “It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend.
