The Most WTF moments in Horror Cinema!

In the spirit of Halloween, I thought it would be fun to list the most over-the-top scenes from Horror films. Some are gruesome and then some are batshit humorous or just damn disturbing when pushing the boundaries. So without further adieu, here are some of the most What the F**k moments in Horror cinema.

"Eye to One Eye" The Sadness (2021)
This 2021 Taiwanese Zombie thriller falls more into the schlock category courtesy of its batshit depictions of those who are infected with a contagious contag if their not hacking you to pieces, you're being sexually assaulted.
After a Molly, young woman gets stabbed in the eye by an infected businessman, he happens to run into Molly again while being treated in a hospital then does the unthinkable by inserting his *ahem* member into the same eye wound which he caused. While some horror fans might call it original, this tops the chart as the most outrageous scene in a horror film, and I have seen my share of plenty!

"Throwing salt in the wounds" Terrifier 2 (2022)
In this cult gorefest /dark comedy, the silent sadistic serial killer (try saying that fast!) Art the Clown enacts extreme torture by ripping off Allie's scalp and skin, her arm, and if that wasn't disturbing enough, Art then douses her in salt ! Yeeeouch!!

"Julius gets a heads up" Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)
In one of the most hated sequels from the Friday the 13th franchise, while pursuing Rennie and Sean, the two major protagonists in the last 1980's installment, Jason runs into Julius "gets into the ring" with Jason but after throwing a range of punches, the Boxer's attempts are effortless as his stamina runs out, as Jason does not go down and by one punch, Julius gets decapitated by Jason. "TKO!"

"Everybody wants Kung Fu fighting" Halloween Resurrection ( 2002)
If you thought Jason Takes Manhattan was one of the more loathed sequels in horror, look no further than 2002's Halloween Resurrection where our recurring antagonist Michael Myers is getting his ass (literally) kicked by Director and Martial Artist Freddie Harris (Busta Rhymes) during the final act, where Michael is left to die in the burning garage. "Or does he?"

"Bag and Tagged!" Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988)
In this "whatism " of a Jason vs Carrie concept, the iconic slasher is often celebrated as having the best kills in horror cinema. One In particular, is when
he finds a girl in a sleeping bag,
the Hockey masked hacker drags her out of the tent, then smashed the sleeping bag with the girl inside of course, against a tree. This scene was so iconic, it became a "fatality" in Mortal Kombat XL!

"What a Rush"  Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)
Now we all know that Freddy Kruger is known for having some very ingenious methods when it comes to disposing his victims from turning a girl into a giant cockroach, beating the shit out of a kid as "Super Freddy" or in the seminal classic sequel, "Dream Warriors" Freddy confronts former drug addict and punker, Taryn White attacks Kruger with a pair of sliding knives, unfortunately Freddy has the upper hand (literally) after transforming the blades on his glove into syringes and injects Taryn as she succumbs to a fatal drug overdose.
It's a subtle but humorous anti drug PSA. "Winners don't do drugs!"

Honorable mention:
"Welcome to Prime Time Bitch!"

"No Guts, but Gory" City of the Living Dead (1980)
Lucio Fulci lived up to his legacy as "The Godfather of Gore " thanks to 1980's City of the Living Dead. In this film who the infamous filmmaker refers to as, the first installment of the Gates of Hell trilogy. Among the most gruesome scenes that stood out, one involves a girl who after seeing an apparition of Father Thomas, begins bleeding from her eyes, followed by vomiting her intestines and stomach (which includes retching sound effects.)The practical effects are disturbingly horrific and convincing due to Fulci having the young actress ejecting real Sheep intestines. Talk about "suffering for one's art!"

"Splinter in the Eye" Zombie (1980)
And once again, it's Lucio for the win!In what is deemed one of the most iconic and shocking moments of horror, Paola (Olga Karlatos)is alone and partially undressed after taking a shower, but is startled when a zombie tries to enter; she pushes the door shut but to no avail as the zombie smashes through the door, drags her by the hair into the splintered door with her eye being gouged out by the wood.

Most of us who were unaware of how far Fulci would go when actually showing the Splinter piercing the eye were in for a shock! This was one of the scenes which put the Italian shocker on the map, and also a targeted list within the "nasties" in the UK.
So that's my personal list of the most WTF  moments in Horror.
What's yours?
