 So, this week was fun. No I'm not referring to the Impeachment Trial of a failed President, but more exciting topics. Here's the best tidbits of the week! 

 

"On your left"! Falcon and the Winter Soldier trailer 

After a year of Disney plus debut, we finally take a better glimpse at the long-awaited Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Sam Wilson was given Steve Rogers' blessing as the new Captain America because his best friend Bucky Barnes is not "certifiable enough for the job. And with Sam's carrying on Cap's legacy, is trouble from Zemo who ain't done with the Avengers yet, the Anarchist organization called the Flag Smashers and if that wasn't enough, enter the government endorsed Captain America-John Walker! Falc and his Amazing friends arrives next month. 

 

Gina Carano: "You're terminated fired"!! 

It seems that Ms. Carino just won't shut the hell up and now it's (finally) cost her a solo gig. The former MMA Fighter now turned Actress, has been removed from the popular Mandalorian series that put her in the Spotlight due to her inflammatory comments. 

 

"Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views,”  

 

Disney and Lucasfilm spared no expense by terminating her from the mega entertainment corporation. 

Carano has been known to make controversial remarks like accusations of Voter fraud, downplaying the Covid 19 pandemic by not advocating wearing a mask along with other tweets and posts. 

 

But the story doesn't end there, Carano is working on a picture deal with Ben Shapiro's Conservative Website, The Daily Wire. 

 

“The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams — to develop and produce my own film — come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered. I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.” 

 

The Daily Wire? When I first got wind of this, I thought it was a farcical piece from The Onion!

I can imagine the Daily Wire Universe where all the cancelled cretins make Conservative based Superhero movies like "Captain Quanon" for the mindless demographic. We know who they are! 

The ardent Trump supporter Carano may have another chance at being a star, but she won't make a fraction of what she got paid for during her stint as Cara Dune from the hit Star Wars spinoff and prior to that, lost her chances of having her very own spinoff.  Gina was too arrogant to heed the warnings. 

 

To quote Warren Oates from 1982's Blue Thunder: "When walking on eggs, don't hop!" 

 

Casting Calls: Pixels to Pictures!

Meanwhile, Mandalorian himself Pedro Pascal, is cat as Joel from HBO'S Adaptation of The Last of Us a PlayStation videogame about a Zombie apocalypse. Sounds familiar? Jamie Lee Curtis, Claire Blanchett and Kevin Hart (??) are cast for a live action adaptation of the Borderlands videogames.

The Space Action fps series entails mercenaries with sophomoric humor. Yes, this falls directly into Director Eli Roth's genre, Whether it will be successful, that's another story but then again, many enjoyed those wretched Paul WS Anderson Resident Evil movies, so there's that.

 

 

Chappelle's Show is back on Netflix! 

Good news for the Comedian and his fans, after Netflix dropped highly successful variety sketch show from their streaming platform when Chappelle urged his fans to stop watching the show which was still streaming on CBS and HBO after Netflix complied to Chappelle's wishes since he did not receive any royalties when signing a contract with Comedy Central almost two decades ago. 

 

Comedy Central streamed the Chappelle Show without his consent which left him infuriated as he had made it adamantly clear. 

As of recent, Netflix  had made a new deal with Dave Chappelle for royalties compensation. 

 

"I asked you to stop watching the show and thank God almighty for you, you did. You made that show worthless because without your eyes, it's nothing," Chappelle told the audience. "And when you stopped watching it, they called me. And I got my name back and I got my license back and I got my show back and they paid me millions of dollars. Thank you very much." 

 

Toxic Avenger: More accusations of Joss Wheldon's mistreatment toward actors, have come to light! 

 

It all began with Justice League actor Ray Fisher who accused Whedon of showing "gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable" behavior toward the cast and crew of the film. Fisher later added that he invites Whedon to sue him for slander if he believes that these allegations are untrue, then Aquaman himself Jason Momoa writing about "the shitty way they were treated on Justice League reshoots" and saying how "serious stuff went down". 

 

Gal Gadot mentioned how she "had her own experience with Whedon and it wasn't the best one" when Whedon had asked Gadot to film a sexual scene in Justice League, but that Gadot had refused. 

 

 

Now, as of February 2021, Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress Charisma Carpenter alleged that Whedon had "abused his power on numerous occasions", calling him a "vampire" and "casually cruel". In a tweeted statement, Carpenter said that Whedon had called her "fat" and asked her "if she was going to keep it" upon learning of her pregnancy, mocked her religious faith, and repeatedly threatened to fire her.  

 

Carpenter revealed that she had participated in Warner Media's Justice League investigation. 

What a schmuck. This is another example of why sometimes cancel culture is justified. Carano got the memo, but out of hubris didn't adhere to the warning and Joss is just a dick! 

So yeah, all's well that ends well. 

 

In the meantime, the official trailer for HBO's upcoming Justice League Extended (The Zac Snyder cut) drops on Valentine's Day! 

 

 

"Unjustified." Justin Timberlake Apologizes to Brittney Spears and Janet Jackson! 

Soon after Hulu and FX dropped the Britney Spears Documentary, "Framing Britney Spears,"  detailing the singer's career along with the  scrutiny she has faced in the media. Timberlake's part via his scathing accusatory video "Cry me a River" was perhaps the last straw may have caused her mental breakdown.

In a statement posted to his Instagram account on Friday, the singer issued an apology to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson for "missteps" that he says contributed to "a system that condones misogyny and racism."

"I've seen the messages, tags, comments and concerns and I want to respond," he wrote. "I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right."

Timberlake or rather "Timberfake" Performed a song during a Super Bowl Halftime show which coined the term "Wardrobe Malfunction" after ripping off her Jackson's bodice exposing her breast. While Janet Jackson was marginalized to the extent of her career being ruined, Timberfake skated by using his White Male Privilege without any repercussions. Now that further clapback against Justin has gained momentum, he decides to now come out and apologize? Fuck off,  you Bloodsucking opportunist!

Also, look at what happened to Britney because of his accusations! Just look...um, on second thought.

As for Timberfake, no one is buying the bs you're selling. Your film Palmer wont get any play here!

On a sad note Mary Wilson founding member of The classic R&B female group The Supremes, passed away on February 8th. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, died of natural causes and was only 76 years old. Mary was an important driving force within the Supremes, aside from "Diva" Diana Ross and pursued her music career after Ross went solo.The band was the catalyst to Motown's success, thanks to a  hits like "Stop! In the Name of Love" and "Back in My Arms Again."

Without The Supremes, there may have not been a Destiny's Child, Envogue or other all Black Girl bands, Wilson was responsible for the Movie and play Dreamgirls based on her memoirs and fought for Musicians' royalties within the digital age.

Paul Stanley of KISS fame tweeted: "OMG! Mary Wilson of THE SUPREMES has died suddenly. I was just on a Zoom call with her Wednesday for about an hour & never could have imagined this. So full of life & great stories. Absolutely shocked. Rest In Supreme Peace Mary."

Rest in Power, Mary and may you join your Supreme sister Florence Ballard in a better life
